With the transition to High School only weeks away, Room 3 of Pukekohe Intermediate organised and ran a Year 8 Careers Day. Workers from across the district with exciting jobs travelled to our school on Thursday the 19th of November. Each student attended 3 lectures from the employers, 1 for each periodical block (2 periods). The employers gave careers on how their job works, what their day involves and how to get a job in that industry.
I visited Mark Ball the Mayor, Reon Graham Director of Sales at EMI Music, and Sam from Franklin County News.
All speakers were informative, and gave students a clear view of possible career options.

With Christmas coming fast room 23 has formed a Christmas party comity to plan out our class Christmas party coming up on Tuesday the 8th of December. The comity is Danelle (leader), Me, Lachlan, Sophie, Bailee, Shannon, Leota and Danielle. We have been having meetings to plan food, dress and decorations. The comity is working well together and we are hoping that the Christmas party will run well.

Walking into the hall for the first stepz lesson, everyone looked anxious and rather scared. No one was looking forward to dancing with a boy. But once the music started, and Simon taught us the dances, everyone forgot the first thought of fear and let loose. Now every student looks forward to the Friday lessons and cant wait til the Ball.
All these practices are a lead up to the Year 8 Leavers Social, which we will perform the 9 dances we've learnt.
The Year 8 Leavers Social will be on Wednesday 9th of December, and the decided theme is Glitz and Glam.

Athletics Day
On the 13th of November Pukekohe Intermediate had their Competitive athletics day at Growers Stadium and the fun athletics day back at school. We walked over to the stadium and sat in the stand waiting for our events to be called up. I entered the senior girls 100m and senior girls long jump i placed 4th in both events. It was a long day but everyone did their best and most came in a good placing. At the end of the day there was one event that was still running and that was the senior girls high jump with Olivia Willetts and Grace Gill playing off for 1st and 2nd. Grace ended up with first place and Olivia took second. Grace broke the record and jumped an amazing 1.56m, overall it was a great day and most people were happy with their placings.

Grease Production

From Week 1 of Term 4 Pukekohe Intermediate students have been working hard on getting the Grease Production ready for the performances coming up. The major groups are cast, hair and makeup, costumes, scenery, publicity, dance, A.V, props, minor props and backstage props. When the performances got underway Shannon and I got asked to film the performance each night and make the movie that will be getting sold on DVD. The Grease production was very success full and most people enjoyed it.

A.I.M.S Games 2009
On the 6th of September Pukekohe Intermediate was of to Tauranga to compete at the AIMS games 2009. I competed in the Netball section. We stayed at the Golden Grove Holiday Park, we had to wake up at 6:00 every morning! It got to wednesday and everyone was geting tired including me! But we managed to pull through and we ended up coming first in our grade. We had some pretty tough teams and umpires but us Netball girls did really well! I had so much fun at AIMS and it was an awesome experience.
